Recycled homes- the future for property?

There’s a new type of property on the market and, although it’s a new build, it could actively reduce waste as well as cutting your energy costs and using minimal raw materials. Swansea-based company, Affresol, has developed a new material that bonds together recycled plastics and minerals using their patented low-energy process that converts 18 tonnes of waste that would otherwise go to landfill into enough material to build a family home.

But you don’t have to go for extreme recycling to build the eco-friendly home of the future. Many homeowners, builders and architects are making inventive use of renewable and reclaimed materials to build beautiful, characterful homes to the property market. More »
